Students to test for Master Belt

We are proud to officially announce the invitation for three Sawyer's Martial Arts students to test towards their 4th degree Master level black belt! Master Sawyer has already notified and delivered the letters to Mrs. Karen Kane, Mr. Dan Hinman, and Ms. Jessica Johnson who are all very excited at the opportunities presented. The test will take place on October 7, in front of the Federation Master Belt Panel.


Mrs. Kane, who will be Master Sawyer's first student to test to master level, holds black belt number 665 and has been training with Sawyer's Martial Arts for over 20 years.

She has won many awards and trophies both professionally and in martial arts competition.

Her specialties in martial arts are in both forms and fan weapon.

Mr. Hinman holds black belt number 1100 and, along with Ms. Johnson, will reach his 20 year mark training with Master Sawyer in 2012.

He has won numerous sparring awards and grand championships and is a dedicated instructor in the kids class.

He is also passionate about sparring and holds sparring collaborations with many other schools.

Ms. Johnson, black belt number 1102, is a dedicated long time student and instructor at Sawyer's Martial Arts.

She holds several awards and accolades in both work and competition; including placing at the World Tang Soo Do Championships in Cardiff, Wales.

She is considered to be one of the resident experts in forms and technique at Sawyer's Martial Arts.
