Master Sawyer, and the numerous master belts he has trained, have built a school based on two principles: respect and hardwork. The students in Master Sawyer's school can set their own pace, but Master Sawyer always pushes them to surpass their limits. In sparring sessions students fight with control, and always at the same level as their opponents. It is not uncommon to see a black belt fight a white belt, and appear to be even, and then fight another black belt and it looks like two angry tigers fighting.
As a traditional martial art, part of Tang Soo Do involves learning sets of movements and techniques called forms.
Forms reinforce the techniques you learn while training and provide a foundation for growth. These forms require both focus and discipline to master.
Adults learn forms as part of their training at Sawyer’s Martial Arts. Forms promote strong fundamentals, technique, balance, speed, and power as well as a great cardio work out.
